Description
The design of KF Pharmacy seeks to create a spatial experience that goes beyond the conventional functions of hygiene and service. The architectural composition is guided by the concept of wellness as a fundamental design principle, aiming to craft a calm and pristine environment. The pharmacy serves as a white canvas for the products it houses. The material palette and color scheme are carefully chosen to create a neutral white backdrop that accentuates the products while reinforcing a sense of absolute cleanliness. The simplicity of the lines and the uniformity of the surfaces enhance the perception of order and organization.
The total area of 96 sq.m. is divided into two primary zones: the main pharmacy and product display area (66 sq.m.) and the auxiliary spaces—including a laboratory, kitchen, restroom, and storage—covering 30 sq.m. At the center of the main area stands a low island incorporating an olive tree, acting as an organizing element of the floor plan. The presence of nature within the interior is not merely decorative; it spatially conveys the philosophy of a holistic approach to health—physical, mental, and social. The island guides circulation, creates pause points, and provides a tranquil “breathing space” in the heart of the pharmacy.
The service area is aligned with the main entrance, ensuring a direct visual connection and a seamless flow between interior and exterior. Shelving is arranged through a balanced interplay of white surfaces and transparent glass, forming a harmonious composition that consistently expresses the pharmacy’s identity. Other custom-designed furniture—the central island, service counter, and integrated seating—follow the same design language, dominated by white, resulting in a unified and cohesive visual and functional system. Discreet linear lighting enhances the spatial geometry and contributes to the overall sense of purity.
The side facade of the store features a metal grille, integral to the pharmacy’s architectural identity. This structure serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, with five crosses referencing the traditional pharmacy typology, while providing essential security, replacing the conventional shutter. The grille complements the bright, clean interior, integrating the exterior into the overall spatial experience. All handles are custom-designed to ensure that from the first interaction with the space, customers experience the narrative the design aims to convey—the association of health with balance, cleanliness, and tranquility.
Through these elements, the pharmacy delivers a holistic experience where health meets architectural simplicity and balance—a space that reflects contemporary aesthetics while accommodating users’ needs with clarity and comfort.
